This is the state that started this journey. It was while I was in Indiana expecting to have a boring week traveling for work in 1999 that I realized how easy it is to miss a lot in the US if you don’t make an effort to see the country through state parks and small museums, and I made a decision to take on this project. I’ve had to keep reminding myself of that because, for the first time in many years, people have wondered why I am bothering. Maybe it’s the unassuming Midwest, maybe Indiana does not seem to draw a lot of attention, or maybe it’s simply because when I have said where I am spending my vacation, most people heard “India,” and were surprised when I corrected them with a state that seems like the exact opposite of exotic India. Regardless, I’m in Indiana!

I’m really glad you decided to do this blog. You have the personality and wit of someone I once knew. What an exciting adventure!
Thanks, Michelle. I’m glad you liked it.
