Florida, December 2011

Nothing says Christmas better than bright sun, warm temperatures, and beautiful beaches. By late 2011, I had lots of stored vacation time and some catching up to do on my US travels, so I headed to Georgia and started a journey that would take me down the Atlantic coast from Savannah to Miami, across the southern tip of Florida, back up the Gulf coast, and into the Florida panhandle before landing back in Georgia on my return trip. At the time, I worked with two native Floridians, so I was better equipped with local directions and tourist recommendations than in any previous state. I also had the good fortune of having friends to meet along the way. So I headed off to the Sunshine State to spend my holidays with the alligators. I got plenty of both and a Merry Christmas as well.
